In addition, since 1950, Mel excelled as Head Counselor and later as Owner/Director of two outstanding Children's Camps in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State. The children at CAMP BACO for Boys and CAMP CHEN-NA-WAH for Girls on beautiful Balfour Lake adore "MELVIN J" as they affectionately called him. He loved to participate in Sports, led great Services and Campfires, told wonderful Stories, and performed an outstanding "INKA DINKA DOO". Mel served as President of the ASSOCIATION OF PRIVATE CAMPS. He also was President of the Laurelton BNAI BRITH.
